M+, a museum of visual culture, and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council have announced that sound artist Samson Young has been selected to represent Hong Kong at the Fifty-Seventh Venice Biennale, which will be held from May 13 to November 26, 2017.

This is the third edition that M+ and the council will collaborate on to present Hong Kong’s contribution to the Biennale. Ying Kwok, an independent Hong Kong–based curator, was asked to curate the pavilion.

Born in Hong Kong in 1979, Young is a trained musician who earned his M.Phil. in music composition from the University of Hong Kong and a Ph.D. in the same field from Princeton University. His artistic practice involves blending sounds with visual art and live performance. READ FULL
